Blog 443:
Typically green or brown It is well camouflaged on plants, its home
Not many naked human eyes could easily spot it
Mantis sneakily lies in ambush
Or patiently stalks its game
Its reflexes are as quick as lightning
Under magnified lenses, its legs show spikes
Wittily, it uses them to pin down target prey
But not today; today, it just sits atop my outdoor bin
Saying a prayer, “Live, human … and let me live!”
