Doze …

Blog 458:

At 10 PM, I laze at the couch
Inducing my body and mind to lull
I can’t explain though why they fight
My desire to sleep is overpowering
Yet neither one wants to rest … yet …

My eyes are lit up as well
They are fixated on the tube
Where noise and images keep going …
And going … fighting with body and brain
My rebel eyes defy too the sleep I yearn

“Stop, you both!” I yell
They quit … for a moment
And then make a “GO” once again
From my fetal posture, I straighten up and lie very still
Soon they both give up, and I doze down in sleep!
