A Passion

Blog23:

Our given focus on people, events, and things are mostly driven by need.  Very rarely do we give attention to something, to someone or to anything that drives our passion.  This is an unfortunate circumstance.  Ironically, reversing this circumstance requires that we do become passionate about anything, something, someone.

Tolerating disorganization or a messy surrounding has merits, but once in a while, it gets suffocating.  It creates in some of us a deeply felt unease; for others, however, it becomes the impetus for doing something about it.  My new-found passion came about as a chore needing care.   As I sat in the comforts of my Lazyboy (or girl?), my eyes caught the faded-looking, ragged-y, and dusty kitchen wooden floors.  Looking at them rudely chided my love-hate passion for keeping or not keeping them tolerably clean, and deserving of shine.

Why passionately care about the wooden floors?  I realized that I have immensely loved the feel of the wood underneath my feet.   Feel of the wood brings to me that connection with nature and all things natural.  Walking on them … standing on them … gives a firm foundation to my unaffected, relaxed gait.  When my feet touch them at the end of a shoe-constricted day outdoors, they breathe and walk easy.   The wooden floors become my feet’s instant feel-good-home.

So, there.  Giving my wooden floors a “tlc … tender-loving-care” became the passion of my ‘good-cident-al’ morning.

By all means, tidying wooden floors isn’t my expertise.  “No problem!” I give it a good sweeping or vacuuming, initially.  Next, manual dust-mopping does the trick.  On this occasion though, I use a floor steamer for that ‘extra-clean’ touch.  A yielding labor of love follows.  That transforms.  Choices abound on just how to bring that finished touch to my floors.  For that, I turn to a time-tested product - a little help from dear, reliable Johnson&Jonhson Company’s Pledge.  Presto, my floors are restored to their luster-looking clean shine!  They breathe easy, smell favorably; some of them even give a straighter, smoother look than before.  I could feel their pride in serving humbly my feet.  Passion in believing my floors could be restored close to their natural looks took on to become a rewarding endeavor.

Who would have thought that tidying wooden floors could bring a strong push … a passion?  Nondescript, you might say, eh?  And who cares?  I do.

I did, and I was glad to find it today.

You … what’s your passion for this day?
